Getting Started

I finally made my project choice.

It's Marcel's Sweater, the first one in the book.

The yarn I chose is Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK in #11, a sage-colored green, a darker shade than what's in the book. Needles are size 5 straight and size 5 DPN. All my supplies arrived this week and I'm starting tonight!

Weekend Satchel Bag

And here it is...the yarn, the book, the needle, the bobbins. And before some BO (Born Organized) counts the skeins of yarn and tells me I don't have enough - yes, I do. I purchased a different brand of wool, one that has more yardage in each skein. I have used it before. I am very happy with it and it is about half the price of the brand listed in the book. So there.

On your mark, get set...

The book has arrived, the wool arrived late this afternoon. Tomorrow I will take a picture of all the "parts." And then, and then....oh, yes!! The Weekend Getaway Satchel begins. Who knows, I might just get it finished in time for the trip to Florida at Thanksgiving to visist the In-Laws. Or is that Outlaws? I can never remember.

Taking Flight with Icarus

Well gals (and guys), here I am - hoping that there will be others who just couldnt manage to count stitches well enough to get Icarus off the ground. (sigh) I bought the magazine from a gal who attempted and failed, then I attempted and failed. HEY!! Think it might have been that copy of the magazine? (guffaw) I have some lovely Jaggerspun SuperMerino in Jade - won't that look just scrumptious if I manage to pull it off? :)
