KAL will open in October 2007
This knitalong is designed to bring together knitters from across the globe who want to share their photos of finished patterns or works-in-progress, ideas for variations, or suggestions for different yarns for the designs in the new book, The Best of Interweave Knits: Our Favorite Designs from the First 10 Years, available in bookstores and yarn shops nationwide this October 2007. Everyone is invited to participate--even if you don't have the book and want to pull out your back issues (scroll down to see the pattern photos and list). Perhaps you have already knitted several of the designs? Post about them! Do you have an enlightening story about your experiences with one of these patterns? Share it! We're looking forward to starting this new community of IK fans to see where you will take us with this KAL.

I am looking forward to this book!
Me too! Can't wait to see all of the best patterns - and they truly are THE BEST!
What to knit first???
The knit along sounds great but I live in the UK and the book will not be out there until Dec. As a new devotee to Knits I do not have a back issue library to consult.
I am using my back issue of IK to knit Icarus. I have a cone of angora/cashmere blend in a very light lavender/blue. It was a gift from Richard at Colourmart.com. If you want excellent cashmere at an affordable price look up his site. I have no interest in the site other than being a happy consumer of wonderful yarns!
I'm really looking forward to this. I'm sure it will be great with many wonderful people who will help when someone can't count correctly!

I am looking forward to joining this KAL. I love the patterns in Interweave! Now that I have been loosing weight I am motivated to start knitting for myself now :)! I think I might atart with a shawl or stole first!
Well, this is my very first KAL, so I'm excited. At least I've waited for something good before jumping on!
